Galactic Day at Zoo Boise

Animals, For the Family, Children, Fair/Festival, Nature, Film
Come experience a zoo in a galaxy far far away. Galactic Day is on Saturday, June 9 from 9am-5pm (last admission at 4:30pm). Activities include: Photo-ops with Star Wars characters with the 501st Legion, Star Wars themed enrichment for the animals, Star Wars themed comedy performances, explore and learn about animal superpowers, movie themed exhibit walk, face painting, giraffe and sloth bear encounter, Butterflies in Bloom, and much more! We welcome you to dress as your favorite superhero, princess, or galactic character! Due to animal safety, you may be asked to remove full head costume pieces in certain areas of the Zoo. Lightsabers are allowed, but cannot be used over fences or animal barriers. Any costume blasters or guns are not allowed unless you are with the 501st Legion, Rebel Legion, or another approved group.

Critter College at Zoo Boise (Grades K - 1)

Animals, Education, Nature, Children, Summer Camp
Summer Critter College includes up-close animal encounters, fun-filled games, stories, imagination play and craft projects. Critter College introduces children to the world of animals. Kids only! All programs are on Thursdays from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Cost per student per class is $30 for FoZB passholders and City of Boise residents, $35 for nonresidents. June 14: A is for Aldabra Tortoise – Get behind the scenes with the old favorite at Zoo Boise! June 21: B is for Bear – Feed our sloth bear and feel real bear fur. June 28: G is for Giraffe – Come meet our towering toddler giraffe Tafari! July 12: K is for Komodo Dragon – Watch our komodo get his breakfast. July 19: L is for Lion – Feel a real lion fur and mane, and see inside their strong jaws. July 26: M is Monkey – Move like a monkey and try out their diet for a day. August 2: P is for Penguin – Watch the Zoo Boise penguin parade during their lunch. August 9: S is for Snow Leopard – These guys know the meaning of Cool Cat and you’ll get to feel their fur coat.

A memorable experience is sure to be had by those who experience Snooze at the Zoo! Zoo guides will provide your family with evening and early morning treks through the zoo to investigate animals as well as their habitats, behavior, and care. Activities, games, art projects, and up-close animal encounters are also part of the Snooze at the Zoo adventure. Evening snack, continental breakfast, and indoor/outdoor sleeping area provided. Children’s parent(s) must be present throughout the entire program. One adult per five children. Cost per person is $45 for FoZB passholders and City of Boise residents, $50 for nonresidents. June 16 – June 17, 6:30pm – 9:00am July 6 – July 7, 6:30pm – 9:00am August 4 – August 5, 6:30pm – 9:00am
