Chris Campbell Davis & Laura Gray - Seeds of Hope Release Party

Chris Campbell Davis & Laura Gray - Seeds of Hope Release Party

Come along on a journey with an 8-year old boy named Jimmy as he starts a new life filled with safety, healing and freedom from domestic abuse, beginning at the WCA's safe shelter. Jimmy is a fictional character and his story is based on what a young child might experience as he navigates his family's journey leaving an abusive situation and coming to a safe shelter. It was written by the WCA's Communications Manager, Chris Campbell-Davis, with input from the WCA's programs staff- specifically one of the clinicians who works with children and utilizes play therapy techniques. The original artwork, by local artist Laura Gray, was done specifically to accompany the story. Chris Campbell-Davis is the Communications Manager for the Women’s and Children’s Alliance, a nonprofit organization in Boise, Idaho, dedicated to providing services to those impacted by domestic abuse and sexual assault and building a community where everyone thrives in safe, healthy relationships. For Davis, her work is more than a job – it is a passion and something she finds deeply rewarding each and every day. She appreciates the opportunity to apply her skills and knowledge acquired from years working in corporate communications, human resources communications and marketing to such a worthy cause – helping better the world around here. Davis studied public relations at the University of Idaho and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Boise State University. Laura Gray is a local illustrator and certified cat mom. She loves reading just as much as drawing, and is always inspired to create pictures to accompany the stories she reads. Laura is a self proclaimed coffee nut, and is often found curled around a sketchpad with a mug close at hand. She currently lives in Boise with her soon to be wife and their three cats, enjoying all that the Treasure Valley has to offer.
