The Idaho Black History Museum was founded in 1995 and currently is the only African American history museum in the pacific northwest. The museum's purpose is to build bridges between cultures to explore issues that affect Americans of all cultures and ethnicities. Phase III has been added to Phase I and II of the permanent exhibit, “Invisible Idahoan: 200 Years of Blacks in Idaho” and now covers 1805 to the present.
